New Suzuki Swift Sport, survey and owners' opinions
In our community at the moment we count more than 100 owners of the new Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S, one of the first ideas we had as soon as this nice group of Swift Sport lovers was formed was to create an opinion poll on the new Suzuki house sports car. The idea was very successful, in recent months we have collected a lot of opinions - spontaneous and real - about the new Swift Sport, and finally we can show you the data, discovering with you all the merits and defects found by those who bought the car and drive it in everyday life.
The Swift Sport ZC33S survey was launched on December 10, 2018, and at the moment (28/04/2019) the following have been collected opinions of as many as 70 owners... are not few when we consider that this is a very recent car model and belongs to a niche market.
We think that the results of this survey, with the lots of opinions from the owners of the new Swift Sport, are of great help to both To guide new potential buyers in their choice and both to gather invaluable information useful (possibly even to the parent company) for improve and refine a product which (small spoiler...but you'll just have to keep reading) is Fully meeting the expectations of the current owners.
Before turning to the results of the survey on the new Swift Sport we believe it is important to emphasize the importance of direct collection work of the end-user opinions.
Unlike classic road tests-absolutely useful and essential to get an idea of the car-with this work of collecting user opinions we are able to find out much more, in fact we have the opportunity to know what other drivers like us who have already been using it for several months and in many different conditions think of the new Swift Sport.
Most users have given permission for their name to be published and anyone who would like to find feedback in what is stated and published on this page can safely get in touch with the community dedicated to the Suzuki Swift Sport either through the forum present on the site either by entering your own comment at the end of this article.
The Suzuki Swift Sport survey and its organization
We thought we would organize the survey in the most simple and straightforward, through the Google Forms which allows you to create online surveys for free, getting straight to the point and focusing on the most important factors for small and sports car buyers.

We were not interested in studying the detailed behavior of each individual owner, but in knowing right away their opinions on the Suzuki Swift Sport, referring mainly to the motivation and overall satisfaction with the purchase, the evaluation of the car from the point of view of dynamic behavior, reliability and all possible improvements in terms of sportsmanship.
Let's face it, you don't buy a Swift Sport ZC33S if one does not have sporting 'itches' and a desire for performance, and the survey results confirmed this indisputably.
What did we ASK the owners of the new Swift Sport?
To collect the main opinions about Swift Sport we divided the survey into 4 parts and asked for the following information:

Survey results and owners' opinions
Here we are at last with the results of the survey submitted to the users who own the new Swift Sport, the first interesting information is statistical, that is, related to the age of the users and their province of residence, followed by some information about the Swift Sport purchased and then the users' actual opinions about the car.
Age and place of residence of users
The new Swift Sport especially appeals to younger users.
In the 18-28 age group, we have about 60% of users, with a peak of 18 users (out of the total of 69 who participated in the survey) aged between 21 and 22 years ... very young then.
This is followed by the 29-39 age group, which covers almost 22% of the Swift Sports sold and interesting is the figure for the next age group, the Owners with ages between 40 and 50, accounting for 13% of the total... not bad for a small, sporty car like the Swift Sport.
Let's go and browse tra the opinions of users over 40 To understand their motivations for purchase.
David of Voghera is 45 years old and has owned a black Swift Sport since September 2018, when asked 'Why did you decide to buy the 2018 Swift Sport?' responds thus:
I wanted a fast light agile car and then the 1400 turbo 16v 4 cylinder engine they don't make them as well as they did in the 90's anymore
There is then Gianluca, 50 years from Chiavari, owner of a champion yellow Swift Sport since January saying:
I wanted to buy a hatchback to go along with a bigger car, I wasn't thinking about a car like that but I saw it by chance from a customer and, as a sports car enthusiast and practicing track driver, I fell in love with it. And then the first car I bought in 1990 was a Swift 16V ...
We close with Davide of Reggio Calabria who is almost 40 years old and has owned a white Swift Sport since July 2018, who succinctly but very effectively states:
For the old-fashioned power-to-weight ratio
Undoubtedly The charm and memory of the small sports cars of the 1990s is indelible in the heads and hearts of users over 40 who have chosen to buy the new Swift Sport, we had talked about it in the very article of presentation of the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport.
To conclude, we are pleased to note that the Swift Sport is also appreciated by the female audience, in fact we have 3 girls who responded to our survey.
We now come to the place of residence of the users who purchased the Swift Sport.
The distribution is decidedly in favor of northern Italy, with the Milan and Turin provinces clearly ahead in number of Swift Sport registered, very good sales also in Genoa, which has the same numbers as Rome.
This is followed by the provinces of Bergamo, Bologna, Como and Lecco, confirming the obvious success of this car especially in northern Italy.
Users' preferred configurations
What are users' favorite Swift Sport colors?
Two out of all, there is no story--the coloring Champion Yellow, which is the color with which the Swift Sport was launched, is sporty, youthful and also less expensive than the others since it is not metallic and the Arctic White, always in fashion and in high demand.
Between Champion Yellow, Champion Yellow with a black (two-color) roof and BeeRacing Yellow we count well 18 Swift Sports out of a total of 70 affected by the survey.

Ditto for the Arctic White which between solid and two-tone always comes to a total of 18 Swift Sport choices in this combination out of a total of 70.
Next are Very popular are the Azorean Blue and Dubai Black colors., undoubtedly suitable for a car as lively and racy as the Swift Sport.
Below are the available colors for the Suzuki Swift Sport, click to enlarge
What are the most popular accessories?
As a reminder, the Swift Sport ZC33S is a full-optional car that does not include a choice of different equipment, users still have the option of accessorizing it by choosing from a rich accessories catalog made available by Suzuki Italy.
Parking sensors and center armrest are the 2 most popular accessories when purchasing.
Three users therefore decided to install parking sensors in addition to the rear camera, while two users requested the center armrest.
Other required accessories are the trunk carpet model 'Sport', the original is very thin and underappreciated, the spare wheel kit and the non-slip mat for the central storage compartment.
We now get into the meat of our survey by finally turning to the opinions and opinions of users who have already chosen the Swift Sport.

Light weight, torque spread, no turbulag, aesthetically bad
Alex, 24 years old from Bologna, owner since June 2018:
Because there wasn't a car on the market that had a minimum of aesthetic beauty and at the same time met my old-school standards, of the series low weight and, relatively, low horsepower.
Giandomenico, 26 years old from Bari, owner since November 2018:
I bought it because it has an attractive design, it is very functional, powerful, fast.
Other users appreciate theuniqueness of the Swift Sport And they want to stand out from the crowd.

To stand out from the crowd from the usual 500 abarth

For the right price that includes everything plus because it is unique

What do you like about Suzuki Swift Sport?
So many positive appreciations obtained by the Swift Sport, we report some of them related to the most diverse aspects that are considered by users.

Edoardo, 22 years old from Ferrara, owner since June 2018... more than an 'opinion gave a full review 😀
It echoes the philosophy of the small sports cars of the 1980s/90s in which low weight and small-displacement engines ruled the day. It is one of the few cars that holds its own with a 4-cylinder engine. The restyling has helped make the new 2018 Swift Sport eye-catching. Nevertheless, it offers a wide range of accessories when it comes to customization. Costs in general are low. The dimensions are small but allow for really not bad on-board ability, and the trunk does not lead to too much sacrifice. This makes it ideal for everyday use as well.
Always Francesco, 24 years old from Naples, particularly appreciates:
The price, the weight, the interior, the new body and especially the new turbo engine!
Also Simone of Bassano del Grappa Is rather locuaceous:
The merits that I am finding in this car are for sure the performance, used to a 99 clio finding myself in this little beast of 970kg and 140 hp I have to admit to be a lot of fun, another positive aspect are for sure all the additional accessories that make the driving experience much more fun and also safe.
Also on the consumption side I'm quite satisfied, if you go at a normal pace the consumption is right obviously if you mash the accelerator it starts to drink
A Giandomenico, 26 years old from Bari, of Suzuki Swift Sport likes:
Snug and very comfortable seats, acceleration stability and braking.
Luca, 39 years old from Buccinasco, of Suzuki Swift Sport says:
It is a very convenient go-kart!
Daniele, 30 years old from Milan, appreciates several aspects of Swift Sport:
The on-board space, versatility and responsiveness when you want to have fun. The engine always runs at any rpm, and the road holding is excellent. The brakes are prompt and tenacious
John, 29 years old from Turin, is impressed by the design:
The design of the car is something wonderful, power-to-weight ratio, safety systems.
What don't you like about Suzuki Swift Sport?
We naturally asked users to list the least convincing or disappointing aspects of the Swift Sport. Critical points focus more on interior lighting, plastics quality and rustling, trim and tire size, gearbox, and poor exhaust sound.

Here are some of the responses received:
Federico, 26 years old from Genoa, owner since July 2018:
Hard plastics everywhere, lack of lighting in the passenger compartment compared to competitors (and previous models), exhaust sound not satisfying, ground clearance and car height in general too high
Athavan, 21 years old from Santhià (Vercelli), owner since October 2018:
Too high trim
Davide, 39, from Reggio Calabria, owner since July 2018:
I would have preferred it to have had 160hp. and I consider it high in fact I lowered it by replacing only the springs by 2.5cm and then, which it does to everybody above 200 km/h, the mirror especially on the driver's side makes too much turbulence noise at the level that I thought it was a noise coming from the wheel
Simone, 20 years old from Monfalcone, owner since October 2018:
Height, tire size (sizes with little choice of formers), weak sound
Barba, 36, of Santa Maria Hoè (Lecco), owner since November 2018:
The lack of automatic windshield wipers (ed. available as an option), the jack, the requirement to buy on winter tires the valves x pressure control and two sizes of tires.
Lack of interior lighting: under console, rear seat feet (ed optional) and cigar lighter plug in trunk
Luca, 39, of Buccinasco (Milan), owner since November 2018:
Dashboard plastics, crazy air rustling at front windows, big problems with winter tires
Davide, 45 years old from Voghera (Pavia), owner since September 2018:
the tires too narrow and the shocks too high for a sports car
Giandomenico, 26 years old from Bari, owner since November 2018:
I don't like the fact that it mounts tires that are too small I would have preferred it to mount a minimum of 205 to a maximum of 225.
There would be a lot of choice like this on winter tires
Tommaso, 20 years old from Milan, owner since July 2018:
Sound of the original exhausts, driving aids not perfect
Christian, 22 years old from Milan, owner since December 2018:
Poor detailing, low quality paint job. From a sports car I expected lower trim and noisy exhaust.
Gianluca, 46 years old from Rome, owner since September 2018:
The transmission does not seem to me to be at the same level of sportiness as the rest of the car.
Simone, 20, of Bassano del Grappa, owner since November 2018:
One thing that left me disappointed is the sound, for a sports car it's not up to par at all, also the gearbox for sure much better than what I was used to however I have to say that some times it stalls. Also the trim is a little too high, a little bit lower would have also benefited the aesthetics.
Enrico, 22 years old from Rovigo, owner since September 2018:
THE SOUND. Transmission feels too dry and rough, steering not sporty enough. Poor lighting in the cabin
Fabio, 21 years old from Turin, owner since January 2019:
The absence of foot lights (ed optional) and object holders, the sound of the exhaust and the sound system
Francesco, 34, of Cassolnovo (Pavia), owner since September 2018:
I would have preferred a lower ground clearance, a tire a hair wider, more sound at the exhaust
Davide, 21 years old from Turin, owner since July 2018:
It is not very intuitive in operation in some details, the interior materials are not the best. The vibrations from the windows are very irritating. Perhaps I would have included a knob to set the driving mode.
The sound is not worthy.
Edoardo, 22 years old from Ferrara, owner since June 2018:
The transmission, which, while good, tends to stumble at high rates. The trunk compartment houses a floor that seems to rest there somewhat haphazardly. The rearview camera comes across as lackluster and in an unfavorable position. The stance in my opinion is too high and although it does its job it forces the car to pitch a bit too much.
Gianluca, 50 years old from Chiavari, owner since January 2019:
The attentive braking system is definitely ill-tuned, too invasive and annoying. One ends up disabling it thus losing its usefulness. I specify that I drive other cars with similar systems (Volvo and Renault) and the operation on these other cars is flawless, particularly on Volvo. I hope Suzuki will find a remedy.
I "had" to change the exhaust because it is really too quiet. On this type of car, a little more appealing sound is a must.
Driver's seat too high.
Tire size, a 205\40\17 would offer enormously more choice. Brakes too saggy in sport use.
HDenis, 24 years old:
Tire size creates big problems for dealing with the winter period, but even if you decide to change the rims is no mean feat.
As standard perhaps a tesla is noisier, but with some work you can give the little sports car some character.
As you can read most users definitely want a more appealing exhaust 'sound' And a lower ground clearance.

Definitely very much felt problem related to the particular size of the original tires which being 195/45 R17 leaves little choice in buying new tires both summer and winter.

There are also several reports of Rattling at high speeds and vibration from the front windows when lowered a few inches and some 'Jams' of the gearbox in the most sporty driving.
Regarding the change, however, we would like to point out that As the miles go by, the situation tends to improve, also some community users have found benefit by making a Swift Sport gearbox modification Through the replacement of the bushings.
Are you satisfied with the purchase so far?
On this 'dry' question there was no doubt whatsoever: 100% of the users answered YES.
A real success for Suzuki's small sports car.
Do you think or would you like to do some tuning (even soft tuning) on this car?
Obligatory question for those buying a sports car like the Swift Sport. The fact that most users ask for a more appealing exhaust sound and a sportier setup can already make one imagine the types of responses received.
Let's look at some of them together.
Titian, 21 years old from Rome, he admits:
I would love to, in fact I am regretting putting the warranty at 5 years.
Alexander of Bergamo, went straight to action:
Yes, I have already replaced springs, exhaust, spoiler, added dome bar, cusco engine mount, oversized anti-roll bars, various stiffening bars
Frederick of Genoa:
Yes, definitely lower exhaust and springs
Luca from the province of Milan, has big plans:
Absolutely! Picked it up on purpose, I love to tinker with it (without overdoing it). I'm just waiting to age it a bit, then it's off to work: full exhaust, sports filter, front and rear anti-roll bar, braided brake lines, additional radiator.
Alex from Bologna, he says:
Trim and exhaust, nothing exaggerated in short. Maybe two sticky eyelids.
John of Turin, will proceed by steps:
Yes, air filter and exhaust will definitely be done soon with a slight remapping of the ECU in the future.
Aurelius of Turin, thinks there are no conditions:
too many restrictions, there is no mindset and no law to allow it
Davide from Bergamo, seeks more character:
Of course yes, the most is in finding something and someone who knows how to "put" their hands improving and not ruining. Exhaust and intake, at least to have a little more character,
the engine I would leave it at this power and torque, already the front wheels struggle to unload power in second and third without traction control coming in or if esculso the usual wheel skids with less load on the ground.
The trim would be nice to stiffen it a little but leaving the same ground clearance as it is originally, bumps and whatnot are always ready to take away our smiles
Gianluca of Rome, he wants the 180hp:
Yes I would like to, without going overboard with overly stiff setups or extreme modifications, however, I think it would be perfect if brought up to about 180hp.
Christian of Turin, he is satisfied even so:
I would like to, but even so it is perfect!!!
Bologna albs., has already changed the exhaust but still has additional programs:
For now with the 60mm exhaust with valve I am really satisfied, maybe in the future I will aim for intake, intercooler and map. As soon as I have a chance I will put the oil vapor recovery that I already have.
We could go on with a very long list but it is more than sufficient to stop here and tell you that As many as 62 users out of a total of 70 respondents want to do tuning (more or less light) on the Suzuki Swift Sport!!!

What would you recommend to Suzuki to improve it?
In detail, we asked users:
Based on your current experience with Suzuki Swift Sport 2018, what improvements would you like to have on a second series of this model? What should Suzuki do to make it even more to your liking?

Fabio, 21 years old from Milan, owner since November 2018:
Improve interior plastics and a little more accuracy on details
Above all, it lacks the sound
Luca, 30 years old from Varese, owner since December 2018:
Some slightly better interior and a slightly "rougher" exhaust
A user who wishes to remain anonymous:
don't vibrate the windows, allow other tire sizes, third gear a bit shorter, steering a hair more direct, add a bare-bones special version without ADAS and other unnecessary accessories to reduce weight even more
Thomas, 26 years old from Camogli, owner since January 2019:
I would like to have the opportunity to mount a wider, higher-performance tire, especially to improve driving safety.
Andreuccio, 27, of Ascoli Piceno, owner since July 2018:
For me it is perfect like this! Maybe lower it 2-3 cm and a little more open exhaust!
Gianluca, 46 years old from Rome, owner since September 2018:
A gearbox more suitable for sports driving, more standard tire sizes for both summer and winter, avoiding wheel changes for those with mandatory winter tires
Tommaso, 20 years old from Milan, owner since July 2018:
More aggressive sound and self-locking differential
Alessandro, 26 years old from Bergamo, owner since July 2018:
A little sportier trim and tires at least 205
Davide, 39, from Reggio Calabria, owner since July 2018:
20hp more, lower springs, and elimination of high-speed turbulence from the rearview mirror
Davide, 45 years old from Voghera, owner since September 2018:
lower trim and 205-45-17 tires I would have made it 3 doors much more responsive and beautiful it would be
Final considerations on users' opinions
The survey will remain active for the next few months and we invite new Swift Sport owner users to fill it out At the following address: https://goo.gl/forms/NkswU1r7xD6h37C32
Newly collected dari will be included to supplement this article.
Community users, owners of the new Swift Sport, have been very active and interested in leaving their opinions and giving their input, we take this opportunity to thank all our users and the ZC33S Group Italy which is increasingly numerous and motivated...well done guys!!!
In conclusion, what do users who own the new Swift Sport think?
When asked 'Are you satisfied with the purchase so far?' 100% of users answered with a YES, so definitely the new Swift Sport is promoted with flying colors by all users who have purchased it.
This figure for us means that it is a car that does not disappoint buyers' expectations, especially in relation to their main purchase motivations, which we remember to be, above all, the value for money, the versatility and moderate operating costs Of the Swift Sport.
On these 3 aspects none of the respondents complained or were disappointed, so 100% goal met by Suzuki.
Definitely the most widely felt problem is that of tire size, indeed the little choice on the original size plus the difficulties in finding winter tires, would have to be solved ... it seems absurd that many users had to buy 16-inch rims at their own expense to equip the car with winter tires.
In this regard, we have recently published this guide on tires for the Swift Sport where you can find the main models on the market with opinions provided by the guys in the community who have already installed and tested them for many miles. There are finally starting to be more alternatives in the choice and also a winter tire solution for the original 17-inch rims.
On this point many users are waiting for an official response from Suzuki Italy. We gladly act as the voice of this request, inviting Suzuki Italy to open a dialogue for the resolution of this issue.
Also very annoying is the Loud swoosh coming from the outside mirrors at high speeds...Maybe it will depend on their aerodynamics? It might be something fixable ... like the Vibration of the front windows when lowered a few inches, this does not happen to everyone but a fair percentage of users report this problem.
Another point reported by the vast majority of users, we are talking in this case about a great desire and not a problem, is the exhaust voice too weak. In fact, those looking for a real sports exhaust sound will be disappointed and will have to resort to theinstallation of aftermarket products to remedy!
The overall outcome of the survey is very clear, Those who buy the new Swift Sport are young users who are passionate about sports driving and also about tuning and customization. A user who, very often, likes to customize the car with his own hands in search of not only better performance but with the desire to get an aesthetically 'exclusive' product.
The value for money of the Swift Sport and its dynamic qualities., enhanced by the very favorable power-to-weight ratio, agree on all the users who own it and provide lots of fun on everyday roads and in everyday use.
And if you have not yet seen the video of the official launch of Swift Sport we suggest you do it immediately, it is irresistible and fun (just like the Swift Sport):
The Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S is therefore promoted with flying colors!

I have the version before this one and it has amazed many on the track with emblazoned brands with name from very rigid chassis to torsions, systems with arms at the rear like multilink or hybrids and with about 30 hp less and the same weight or stated maybe a few pounds more it has amazed not a little, while the swift despite the tire sizes in words "ridiculous" when trying to keep up I was quiet and they were on two wheels.
If only I had the chance to get the new one I would change the minds of many friends especially owners of Japanese, skeptical of the latter, which I tried at the dealership and it is more than a span ahead of mine and most importantly I could process it properly. The Suzuki Swift would deserve more notoriety and credibility, people in italy instead of going after the various fashions should open their eyes, this swift is the essence of the old school Japanese, little expense much yield, above all a car that costs little, claims lower performance and has a nice processing point on every point of view.
I hope to take it soon as soon as I get back to work and get it up to the power it deserves (+200hp) and equip it with an LSD limited slip-lock, stiffen it up a bit to reduce the roll with some bars and a trim, a noteworthy exhaust that makes the roar of the future best 1.4 turbocharged gasoline ever built (to think that with very little time since it was produced it has already made far more horsepower, something that others like it have needed 12 years).
I D O L O . . . . . . ! ! !
